Samir Nasri was born on 26 June 1987 in Marseille, France. In 2004/2005 Samir made his debut in the first team of Marseille. The footballer came as a substitute in 11 games out of total 13 and scored only one goal. But everything was ahead of him, because he was 17 at that time. The following year Samir kicked two goals. That season he gained huge experience in the UEFA Cup and the Coupe de France. On 29 April 2007 he got on the scoresheet in the match against Sochaux and it was his first goal in the season.
On 20 May 2007 Samir was voted the UNFP Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year. He managed to leave behind such players as Jimmy Briand, Dimitri Payet and Karim Benzema, getting 62% of the votes.
In May 2008 Samir transferred to Arsenal. On 16 August 2008 Samir netted his first goal in the Premier League in the match against West Bromwich Albion. The game ended in a 1-0 win. That goal was also the first in the 2008/2009 season of the Premier League. Samir was named ‘the New Zinedine Zidane’.
On 23 August 2011 the official website of Arsenal announced that the club reached an agreement with Manchester City concerning Samir Nasri’s transfer. On 24 August 2011 a four-year contract was signed as Arsenal pocketed £22 million.
On 28 August, Nasri made his debut for the new club in the match against Tottenham Hotspur. Samir played the entire game and provided three assists. His team won 5-1.
