Sander Boschker is a goalkeeper of Twente. He was born on 20 October 1970 in Lichtenvoorde, Netherlands.
Sander’s youth career took off in local SV Longa ‘30. Later the footballer moved to Lichtenvoorde, where he was noticed by the scouts of Twente, which he joined in mid 1980s’.
Boschker penned his first senior contract with ‘The Tukkers’ and performed for various youth teams of the club. The professional relations between the footballer and the team lasted for 14 years and Sander managed to make 356 appearances, which was the best result in the club’s history.
In 2003 Ajax decided to secure the keeper’s services, but the head coach of the new club did not give him an opportunity to come on the pitch in the 2003/2004 season.
In 2004 Boschker understood he made a mistake and returned to his native Twente. In the 2009/2010 season, Sander took part in every match and helped his team to clinch their first title of the Eredivisie Champions. In December 2010, 40-year-old goalkeeper made his Champions League début in the game versus English side Tottenham. From 2004, the player featured in 193 fixtures for Twente.
Despite Boschker is a very solid keeper, he was called up to the Netherlands national squad one time only, in 2010.
