Santiago García is an Argentine footballer who plays as a defender for Werder Bremen on loan from Rangers Talca. He was born on 8 July 1988 in Rosario, Argentina.
He started out his football grooming at a hometown club Rosario Central and in 2008 joined the first team of the parent club. Santiago got a first taste of professional action with Rosario in a 0-1 loss to Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata during the 2008 Apertura tournament. He cemented his place in the starting XI during the 2010 Clausura tournament. Nevertheless, García had only sporadic appearances for the club, amassing only 16 games for two years.
In 2010, Palermo got interested in a promising Argentine player. On 12 July 2010, the Rosaneri eventually bought out his contract from Rosario Central. It was a golden chance for García to develop his game impressively at a top-flight European club. In his first season with Palermo, he played in 4 games making his first appearance with a rosanero jersey in the Europa League match against Lausanne.
In the 2011/12 season, Santiago García joined Novara on loan from Palermo. He netted 1 goal in 23 appearances for his temporary club.
In 2013 Santiago completed a deal with Rangera Talca from Chile but was loaned to Werder Bremen for the season 2013/2014.
