Sebastian Freis was born on April 23, 1985 in Karlsruhe.
As a youth Freis played for SC Wettersbach. Later in 1999 he moved to Karlsruher SC which was based in payer’s native town. There he performed as a junior till 2004. After that Sebastian was invited to the senior squad of Karlsruher SC. On October, 15 2004 he played his first game for the reserve team, scoring hat trick. In all in 25 matches for the reserve team Freis kicked thirteen goals and so impressed the management of the club. This very year he made his debut for the main squad. In his first full season in senior football club Freis made eight goals. On September, 29 2007 he scored his first goal in the Bundesliga in the match against Borussia Dortmund which Karlsruher won 3 to 1.
On February, 15 2009 Sebastian moved to FC Cologne as his previous contract had ended. There he spent three years having played 54 matches and scored five goals. In 2012 Sebastian joined SC Freiburg which he represents now. In total the player scored five goals in fifteen games for the club.
On October, 10 2006 Sebastian was called up to play for the German national U-21 team for the first time in the match against England. Before that he was once fielded for U-20 team where made one score. Yet, he hasn’t played for the senior team. Sebastian is an active public figure and stands against alcohol and drugs.
