Sebastian Larsson is a midfielder of Sunderland. He was born on 6 June 1985 in Eskilstuna, Sweden.
In 1997 Larsson joined the U-13 squad of Eskilstuna City, where he trained during three years. Sebastian proved to be a very capable winger, who could make splendid display on the flanks. In 2000 the footballer drew the attention of renowned Swedish side IFK Eskilstuna, and the club made everything possible for winning the young talent over to their academy. Larsson spent one year in the new youth system and was invited to Arsenal, where the winger trained during another three years before making a start of his professional career.
In 2004 the young Swedish player penned a contract with ‘The Gunners’ and officially became a senior player of the club. Sebastian spent about two years with Arsenal before completing a move on a season-long loan to Birmingham City, where he netted one goal in 27 games. After the end of his spell, the management of the temporary club decided to secure Larsson’s services on permanent basis and sealed a long-term contract with him.
During four following years, Sebastian performed for the new club and became one of the pivots of the team. The head coach’s trust in the footballer was unconditional, so he let the midfielder on the field in 157 fixtures and saw him score 18 times.
In the summer 2011, Larsson finalized a move to Sunderland, where he spent a wonderful season and helped his new club to gain the promotion to the Premier League by firing seven goals in 32 matches.
From 2000 till 2006, Sebastian made 44 appearances and contributed ten goals for the Sweden national U-16, U-17, U-19 and U-21 teams. From 2008, the footballer was capped 44 times and found the net six times for the full national squad.
