Sebastian Rudy was born on 28 February 1990 in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany.
The player began his career in FC Dietingen. Up until 2003 Rudy played for SV Zimmern. He later moved to VfB Stuttgart’s youth academy. Rudy trained there for 4 years and in 2007 began his adult career with the reserve team, performing in the semi-professional Regional Süd. On 30 July 2008, the footballer undersigned a deal with VfB Stuttgart’s senior team until 2012 and became an important reserve player. Sebastian’s statistics confirm, that during 37 matches he scored 12 goals, not every player can boast about such a result. On 2 August 2008, Rudy made his professional debut against Union Berlin. On 10 August 2008, he marked a professional debut in the first DFB-Pokal round in a 5-0 win over Hansa Lüneburg. On 13 September the same year, Seb celebrated his first goal in Bundesliga against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, his future club.
Shortly after the player sustained an injury and returned back to the squad only in 2010. Rudy managed to participate in 15 matches for the first team of VfB Stuttgart. On 23 August 2010, he moved to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim side, netting his first goal on 5 February 2011. Rudy has performed for all German national team squads. He secured his place in the senior squad only by 2011. Despite being called up, he is yet to play a game.
