Sercan Yıldırım was born on April 5, 1990 in Bursa, Turkey. As he was passionate about football since his early childhood, the boy started training at a youth team of Bursaspor.
In 2006 Sercan began playing football professionally for the same club, Bursaspor. Over the 5 years he stayed with the squad, the striker stabbed 23 goals in 84 games. In the season of 2007/2008 he managed to break into the first team. The footballer’s debut in the Turkish Süper Lig took place at an away match against Istanbul BB, when he came in as a substitute in the second half. His first goal was scored in a game against Kasımpaşa.
In the spring of 2011 Sercan Yıldırım was offered a contract with Lokomotiv Moscow FC, but the footballer failed to pass medical tests. In 2011 the striker was transferred to Galatasaray and got the number 90 jersey. Sercan Yıldırım is famous for his ability to use both legs equally well.
In 2013/2014 season Yildirim was loaned to Sanliurfaspor and later to Bursaspor.
As for his international career, the footballer debuted for Turkey on June 2, 2009 in a friendly against Azerbaijan. And his first goal for his country was made on September 5, 2009 in a World Cup qualification game against Estonia.
