Sergio García de la Fuente is a Spanish football player who belongs to RCD Espanyol and performs in a position of a striker.
Sergio was born in Barcelona where he later finished a football academy and then spent several seasons playing for Barça’s feeder-club. There he showed an outstanding efficiency scoring 34 times for 59 games. Nevertheless Sergio managed to play for the Catalan team’s main squad only four times and then left.
The striker spent the season 2004/05 playing for an outsider Levante UD where he was an undisputed starter. Over the following period of three seasons he performed for Real Zaragoza but as soon as they faced relegation in 2008 Sergio joined Real Betis that eventually was demoted the Primera division either. In 2010 he was transferred to RCD Espanuol where he was involved in 45 games in which he scored 8 times.
García was a part of different youth teams of his country playing for which he achieved stunning success. He also played 2 games for the senior internationals. One of those games was a European Championship game against Greece.
Playing for the Catalonia team since 2003 he scored five times in all the 9 games for the side.
