Serhiy Pshenychnykh is a Ukrainian defender at Metalist. Serhiy was born on 19 November 1981 in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
He also featured for Lokomotiv Kharkiv in the Ukrainian National Youth Competition. Serhiy began his professional career in Vorskla Poltava. He made his debut in the Ukrainian Second League on 12 August 2000 in a game against Oskil Kupyansk. On 11 March 2001 Serhiy featured in the first squad of Vorskla against Shakhtar Donetsk taking the field in the 46th minute. In total Pshenychnykh appeared in 41 games for Vorskla in the Ukrainian Premier League. From 2003 to 2005 Pshenychnykh featured for the Czech Opava where he appeared in 38 matches scoring 2 goals. From 2004 to 2005 he transferred to Borysfen Boryspil.
Then in the summer of 2005 Serhiy transferred to Karpaty Lviv. On 30 July 2005 Serhiy featured in a match against CSKA Kyiv. In the 2005/06 season Karpaty became runners-up in the Ukrainian First League to Zorya Luhansk being promoted to the premier league. Serhiy and his team progressed to the Ukrainian Cup semifinals where they were beaten by Dinamo Kyiv on aggregate by 0-3. In the July of 2008 Serhiy was chosen as a new captain. He appeared in 109 matches scoring 3 goals for Karpaty.
In July of the following year Pshenychnykh left Karpaty as a free agent and transferred to Metalist Kharkiv signing a three-year contract. On 25 July 2009 Serhiy featured in a match against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk taking the field in the 61th minute. On 30 July 2009 Pshenychnykh featured in an out match against Croatian Rijeka in the UEFA Europa League. The footballer took the field from the very beginning but was substituted in the 79th minute. Metalist won the second game by 2 goals to nil where Serhiy played the whole game.
Metalist had to play with Austrian Sturm next. On aggregate Metalist was beaten by 2 to nil slumping out of the tournament. Pshenychnykh played in both games in the first squad at Metalist. Besides, during the period from 2009 to 2011 Serhiy Pshenychnykh was the third in the Ukrainian Premier League and from 2005 to 2006 he was a second-place winner in the Ukrainian First League.
