Serhiy Shevchuk is a left back for FC Illichivets. He was born on 18 June 1985 in Makariv, Ukraine.
In 2003 Serhiy signed for FC Systema-Borex Borodyanka on a 3-year contract. However, after the 2003/04 season, during which the defender has played only 2 games, he completed a transfer to the second team of Donetsk Shakhtar. For three years of playing for the reserve teams of Shakhtar, Shevchuk made 71 appearances and scored 12 goals.
In 2008 Serhiy was included in the first team of Shakhtar, but there the defender started merely one match, and after that was sent on loan to Zorya Luhansk. Shevchuk represented the temporary club for three years, being a regular in the starting lineup, which allowed him to stay in optimal shape all the time. During three seasons at Zorya the defender netted 5 goals in 84 appearances.
In 2011 Serhiy was loaned to Illichivets. The club management was very pleased with Serhiy’s performance, and decided to sign him on a permanent basis in 2012.
In 2005 Serhiy Shevchuk won 5 caps for Ukraine U-21.
