Serhiy Symonenko is a Ukrainian professional football defender currently playing for Sevastopol. He was born on June 12, 1981 in Kupyansk, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union.
In 1999, Serhiy Symonenko started his career at Torpedo Moscow FC. However, the footballer spent most of the first two and a half seasons on the bench, playing only during training sessions. In January 2002, he joined Alania Vladikavkaz FC but in a few months, in the summer of 2002, moved to Chornomorets Odessa FC, where Symonenko spent five years. He took part in 92 matches and scored 4 goals for the club.
In 2007, the defender signed for Arsenal Kyiv FC and soon became one of the team’s key players.
In 2013 his club was on the brink of bankrupcy and Serhiy accepted the invitation from Sevastopol.
In 2004, Serhiy Symonenko was called up for the Ukraine national football team and earned two caps.
