Egyptian goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy was born on 1 July 1983 in Cairo, Egypt. He currently plays for Al-Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League.
The product of Al-Ahly youth academy, Sherif moved to carve out the name for himself in Europe. He joined the Dutch giant club Feyenoord in 2005. However, his four-year spell there didn’t bring much success to Ekramy as he was used a backup player and made only 7 league appearances for that period. In 2008, he had a short spell on loan at a Turkish side Ankaragücü and in 2009 Ekramy returned to Egypt and featured in 9 matches for El Gouna. In the same 2009, the goalkeeper signed a contract with the giant Al-Ahly and plays for the club today.
As a youth, Sherif Ekramy was capped to represent the Egypt national youth team in World Youth cups in 2001 and 2003. Since 2006, he is alled up to the senior Egypt side.
