Simon Cox is a striker of Nottingham Forrest. He was born on 28 April 1987 in Reading, England.
Simon’s career took off in the academy of Reading, where the footballer spent nine years and got ready for a professional start.
In 2005, Cox penned his first senior contract and joined the main squad of the club, but made only two appearances for it before being loaned out to Brentford in 2006. The striker took part in nine fixtures for the team and completed a temporary move to Northampton Town, where he featured in eight games and netted three goals.
In the summer 2007, Simon went on loan to Swindon Town and fired eight goals in 19 matches during his spell. One year later, the management of the club secured the footballer’s services on permanent basis and saw him score 32 goals in 53 fixtures in total.
In 2009, Cox transferred to West Bromwich Albion and found the net ten times in 65 games for the team during three years.
In the summer 2012, the striker sealed a deal with Nottingham Forest.
From 2011, Simon has been capped 13 times and contributed three goals for the Republic of Ireland national team.
