Simon Jentzsch was born on 4 May 1976 in Düsseldorf, situated in West Germany. He is a son of a German football coach Werner Jentzsch and an English mother. Simon performed as a goalkeeper.
Initially Jentzsch played in SK Waldniel, where he stayed for nine years. Later Simon moved to FC Mönchengladbach, then joined Bayer Uerdingen, where he, however, stayed for a short period of time, playing in the team only one year.
Soon the footballer moved on to the senior side of KFC Uerdingen 05. However, Jentzsch had no appearances for the team, which forced him to seek for a new target. It appeared to be the German club Karlsruher where he moved in 1995. At first he performed exclusively for the reserve squad, and then got into the first team, where he was eventually established as a first-choice amassing all in all 69 appearances for the club.
In July 2000, Simon found himself at TSV 1860 Munich, in which he played twenty more matches than at Karlsruher, and signed a deal with VfL Wolfsburg, for which the player performed for a long time, appearing on the pitch in 142 matches for six years.
In 2009, Simon joined Augsburg, signing a contract until 2013. The 35-year-old Simon Jentzsch was one of the key players of the team, who won big respect and fame among fans.
Once his contract was completed Jentzsch retired from football.
At the international level, the German goalkeeper of English origin represented the German U-21 team between 1996 and 1998. Simon Jentzsch has got one callup to the senior team so far, however he hasn’t managed to make his official debut.
