Simon Lappin is a midfielder, born on 25 January 1983 in Glasgow, Scotland.
In 1997 Simon started to try his hand at professional football, when he penned a contract with St. Mirren. The player spent ten years in the club, first being let on the pitch rather rarely as he needed to gain his first professional experience. In length of time, Lappin became more self-confident and workmanlike, which helped him to come on the field more often. The footballer managed to make 152 appearances and find the net nine times during ten years in St. Mirren.
In 2007 English side Norwich City took an interest in an opportunity to secure Simon’s services. The offer turned out to be suitable both for Lappin’s club and for himself. That is why, the parties agreed a deal really soon and Simon officially joined ‘The Canaries’. After one season in the new club, the footballer was sent on a season-long loan to Motherwell, where he made 14 appearances and netted two goals.
After the end of his loan spell, Lappin continued to perform for his parent Norwich City, but those appearances were much frequent than before. He became even more solid and was not going to give his regular place without fight. Simon spent the 2009/2010 season coming on the pitch in the starting line-up and consolidated his position in the following seasons.
In 2013 the Scottish player moved to the Welsh side Cardiff City and played there for one season.
The footballer took part in ten games of the Scotland national U-21 team.
