Simone Verdi is an Italian midfielder who plays as a second striker or a winger for Torino. Simone is affectionately known as Verdinho for his Brazilian-like playing style.
Simone Verdi was born on July 12, 1992 in Broni, Italy. He joined Milan`s youth academy as an eleven-year-old after being spotted playing for the amateur club Audax Travacò. On January 13, 2010 Simone got his first run-out for the club in the Coppa Italia match against Novara. Two weeks later he again appeared in the starting line-up in the quarterfinal match against Udinese. However Milan suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat. On April 14, 2010 Verdi showed a good composure for the U-20s as he blasted his first goal and added an assist.
In May 2010 Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani announced that Verdi would step up into the senior team for the forthcoming season. Soon he sealed a new contract with the club but continued to perform for the youth team. Prior to the start of the 2011/2012 campaign Torino secured the player`s services on a co-ownership agreement with Milan. On August 27, 2011 Simone debuted for Toro in a 2-1 win against Ascoli.
In 2013 Simone was sent on loan to Serie B side Juve Stabia. Later on he performed for Empoli on loan.
On September 22, 2010 Verdi was awarded an international debut for Italy U-19 in the match against Serbia.
