A Brazilian footballer Josef de Souza Dias acts as a midfielder for Grêmio. Dias was born on 11 February 1989 in Rio de Janeiro.
Josef grew up in the youth team of Vasco da Gama. His junior career would span for almost ten years, since he entered the club’s academy in 1998. In 2008, Dias grabbed the professional contract with Vasco da Gama. He debuted for the senior team in February 2008. Josef returned to the field in 2009 winning the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B.
On 28 June 2010, a contract for a fee of €4.5 million was signed with Porto. Josef debuted for the new team in August 2010 in a match against Naval. He also got the taste of trophy-winning, when the club came on the top of the Portuguese Cup.
On 11 February 2012, a temporary deal was agreed with Grêmio. Josef made his debut for the new squad on 18 February in a match against Sâo José.
In 2009, Dias made 5 appearances for the Brazil U-20 team.
