Stefan Maierhofer is a footballer from Austria, born in 1982. He played for the Austrian side SV Langenrohr and in 2005 moved to Germany joining the reserve team of Bayern Munich. During his stay with them Maierhofer featured in 42 matches and scored 21 goals. He left for TuS Koblenz in January 2007 and in July moved to Greuther Fürth. In 2008 he was sent on a half-a-season long loan to Rapid Vienna and in that period Maierhofer made 11 appearances and scored 7 goals. His contract was made permanent and in the 2008/09 season he netted 31 goals in 49 games.
In 31 August 2009 the striker moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers, the side had just advanced to the top flight, but he picked up an injury that kept him aside. He lost his place in the team and was sent to Bristol City, then to MSV Duisburg and in August 2011 Maierhofer retuned to Austria. There he signed for Red Bull Salzburg and in January 2013 left it for 1. FC Köln.
In August 2008 he earned his first cap, playing for the Austrian national team in the match against Italy.
