Stefano Lucchini plays as a central defender for Atalanta BC. He was born on 2 October 1980 in Codogno, Italy.
An Italian player started his senior career in 1998 when he signed his first professional contract with US Cremonese. Throughout two seasons from 1998 till 2000 he appeared in 34 matches scoring 1 goal for the club. In 2000 Stefano continued to hone his football skills at another club Ternana Calcio having agreed to a two-year contract. Despite the fact that the head coach gave Lucchini the opportunity to demonstrate his skills, he did not show up in the starting lineup in every match. On the whole the player netted 2 goals in 43 appearances for Ternana.
In 2002 an Italian defender was lucky enough to sign the most successful contract in his career with Empoli FC. Being the member of the major squad throughout five years at that club, Stefano featured in 126 matches and scored 2 goals. In 2007 he continued his career at U.C. Sampdoria where he played in the starting lineup for four years. During that time he managed to participate in 106 matches. In 2011 that experienced defender joined Atalanta BC where he has been playing ever since in the starting lineup.
From 1999 till 2002 Stefano represented Italy at U-20 and U-21 levels making 17 total appearances.
