Stephan El Shaarawy is an Italian footballer currently playing as a forward for a powerhouse club Milan. He was born on 27 October 1992 in Savona, Italy.
Stephan started his football grooming at Genoa in 2006. Aged 16, he got a first taste of Serie A action playing 10 minutes in a match against Chievo. However, a young footballer was mostly kept off the first team warming the bench during almost all the spell at Genoa.
Lacking the first-team opportunities El Shaarawy was sent on loan to Padova for the 2010/11 season. There he developed his game impressively scoring 9 goals in 29 appearances for the temporary club. Soon, his terrific performances sparked interest of Serie A giants Milan.
In June 2011, the young striker signed for AC Milan and made his debut for the Rossoneri in September 2011 in a 1-3 defeat to Napoli. His maiden goal wasn’t long in coming: El Shaarawy fired the ball in a home 1-1 draw with Udinese three days after the debut.
Stephan El Shaarawy was an international for Italy at various age levels. He came up through the U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19 and U-21 squads between 2008 and 2011. He was awarded his first cap for the Italy national team in a friendly game against England on August 2012.
