Stephan Fürstner is a German footballer of Greuther Fürth born on 11 September 1987 in Munich. Stephan is primarily a midfielder but he is also able of playing as a defender.
Fürstner’s career took off at MTV Dießen in 1994. Four years later he joined the youth ranks of Bayern Munich. At the age of 18, Stephan was offered to sign a professional contract with the club and started to play for the reserve team in the Regionalliga. His debut came on 15 October 2005 in a 0-4 defeat to SpVgg Bayreuth. In the first season he made 20 appearances and netted 1 goal. Stephan scored his first professional goals in a 12-0 victory over TSV 02 Berching. His Bundesliga debut fell on 5 May 2007 in the 32nd Round against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Fürstner appeared as a sub in the 87th minute, and was again reduced to the reserves. In July 2009 he agreed to the contract with SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
In January 2006 the player debuted for the Germany U-19 team in a 2-2 draw against South Korea. Later he earned 4 more caps at international level and was invited to the U-21 squad. In 2007 Stephan made 2 appearances and hasn’t received any more calls-up to the national team.
