Stéphane Mbia is a midfielder of Queens Park Rangers. He was born on 20 May 1986 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Mbia’s youth career began in 2003 when he joined Kadji Sports Academy. However Stéphane had been featuring for the club only up to 2004 until he was tried out by another club.
In 2004 Stéphane was called up to a tryout to join Rennes playing in Ligue 1. After a successful exhibition game the footballer was offered to sign a professional five-year contract with the club. Without any doubt and hesitation Stéphane accepted the offer and signed his first professional deal. Stephane played many games for the club mainly appearing in the first team. He played 105 matches and scored 4 goals during five years.
In 2009 Stéphane’s career underwent some significant changes. Marseille noticed the Cameroonian footballer and resolved to acquire him from Rennes. The transfer fee made more than €14 million; the player signed a long-term contract with the club. Stéphane played for Marseille in 69 matches scoring 5 goals.
In 2012 Mbia joined an English side QPR but was loaned to Sevilla for the season 2013/2014.
Stéphane Mbia has been invited to play for the Cameroon national team since 2005.
