Stephen Foster is a defender of Tranmere Rovers. He was born on 18 September 1980 in Warrington, England.
Stephen’s professional career took off in Crewe Alexandra in 1998, when the footballer graduated from the academy of the club and penned his first professional contract. Foster quickly adapted to the new atmosphere and gained the manager’s trust, which gave him an opportunity to come on the pitch more often. He made 217 appearances and netted 15 goals for the team during nine years.
In 2006, the defender put pen to paper of a contract with Burnley, but had to watch first games of his début season from the substitutes’ bench. Stephen took part in 17 fixtures for ‘The Clarets’ during one year.
In the summer 2007, the footballer sealed a five-year deal with Barnsley and managed to clinch a regular place in the starting XI at once, which helped him to find the net ten times in 226 matches for ‘The Tykes’.
In 2013 Foster switched for Tranmere Rovers.
