Stephen Henderson is a goalkeeper, born on 2 May 1988 in Dublin, Ireland.
In 2007 Stephen’s professional career took off, when he penned a contract with Bristol City and performed for it during four years. However, the same year (2007), the footballer was sent on loan to York City, where he made seven appearances. One year later, the keeper drew the attention of Weymouth and went on loan to the new club. Henderson was given an opportunity to feature in 16 games, which gave him more playing practice.
In 2010 Stephen continued his performing on loan by completing a move on a six-month deal to Aldershot Town. The goalkeeper managed to take part in eight games for the team before the summer 2011, when he sealed a loan deal with Yeovil Town. Henderson spent another half a year with the new temporary team, but the management decided to extend his contract for another six months. Stephen made total 33 appearances for Yeovil Town during two spells.
In 2011 the keeper put pen to paper of a contract on permanent basis with Portsmouth, where he performed during the first half of the 2011/2012 season. Henderson made extremely positive display in 25 fixtures of the new club. In January 2012, West Ham United penned a loan contract with the footballer and secured his services on continuing basis after the end of the season. In 2013 Stephen had a loan run with Ipswich Town and Bournemouth.
In the summer 2014 the player completed a move to Charlton Athletic.
From 2007 till 2010 Stephen was capped eight times for the Republic of Ireland national U-21 squad.
