Stephen McGinn is a midfielder of Sheffield United. He was born on 2 November 1988 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Stephen began to play football in St. Mirren Boys Club, which prepared the young footballer for a professional start and a certain role in the main team.
In 2006, McGinn was invited to the first squad, which meant he would make a step forward in his career. The midfielder penned his first senior contract and was given an opportunity to make several starts and sub appearances during his début season. Stephen managed to take his workmanship to the new level, which drew the attention of various Scottish and English clubs.
In 2010, the footballer sealed a deal with Championship side Watford. McGinn faced the high competition for a place in the starting line-up, so he had to intensify his training. The midfielder did not get much playing practice, but the head coach managed to find a place for him in 38 matches during three seasons. After short spell with Shrewsbury Town McGinn moved to Sheffield United.
From 2007 till 2010, Stephen was capped nine times and contributed one goal for the Scotland national U-19 and U-21 squads.
