Stephen Pearson is a winger of Bristol City. He was born on 2 October 1982 in Lanark, Scotland.
Stephen started his professional performance in Scottish side Motherwell in 2000, when he put pen to paper of a senior contract and began to make occasional appearances, gaining his first playing practice and becoming more confident at his position. Despite the footballer failed to clinch a regular place in the starting line-up, he managed to gain the manager’s confidence and netted 12 goals in 80 fixtures for the club during four years.
In 2004, Pearson transferred to top-flight Celtic and fired six goals in 56 matches for the new team, where he was mainly used as a sub.
In 2007, the winger sealed a permanent deal with Derby County and got a chance to feature in several fixtures during his début season, but he needed more experience to get a spot in the starting XI, which entailed his loan move to Stoke City. Stephen made four appearances for ‘The Potters’ during six months and returned to his parent club, where he took his tally to four goals in 115 games by 2011.
In 2011, the footballer went on loan to Bristol City and found the net two times in nine matches for the team during three months. The management of ‘The Robins’ liked Pearson’s display and secured his services on permanent basis in January 2012. The winger featured in 39 fixtures and chipped in four goals for the club as of February 2013.
From 2002 till 2003, Stephen took part in eight matches for the Scotland national U-21 squad and in two matches for Scotland B. From 2003, the footballer has been capped ten times for the full national team.
