Stevan Jovetic is a striker of Manchester City. He was born on 2 November 1989 in Titograd, Montenegro.
Stevan’s junior career started in 2000, when he joined the academy of Mladost Podgorica. Jovetic had been training there for three years and finally became one of the most talented youngsters. In 2003 Stevan entered the academy of the best Serbian club ever – Partizan. After three years there, the young talent developed into a promising striker.
In 2006 Partizan put a contract on a table for a skillful goal-scorer. Stevan joined the main squad, where he played in 51 matches and amassed 13 goals during two years.
In 2008 the young striker was thoroughly scouted by Fiorentina. The team’s board was desperately looking forward to buy the Montenegrian and started negotiations. As a result, the club paid €8 million for a talented striker and signed a long-term contract with him. Stevan made a promising debut for the team and scored 35 goals in 116 fixtures for the club from 2008.
In 2013 many top european clubs struggled to sign the Montenegrin and it was Manchester City who offered £22m to Fiorentina and secured his services.
In 2007 Stevan was capped six times and fired 2 goals for the Montenegro U-21 national team. He received his first call-up to the senior national team in 2007.
