Steve Sidwell is a midfielder, born on 14 December 1982 in a suburb of London, England.
Steve’s professional career started after he graduated from the Arsenal academy. He was lucky to become a part of ‘The Gunners’ for two years before leaving it for the first time.
In 2001 Sidwell went on a season-long loan to Brentford and scored four goals in 30 matches of the temporary team. In 2002 Steve managed to play on loan in two clubs, Beveren and Brighton & Hove Albion, where he performed till 2003.
In 2003 Steve aroused Reading’s interest in his services as the club noticed the young footballer in early 2000s. He was offered a lucrative contract and good opportunities for his future performance. In the summer 2003 Sidwell signed a contract and played for ‘The Royals’ during four years, which became very successful and fruitful for the midfielder as he developed his best skills, gained more experience and became more self-confident. Steve made 170 appearances and amassed 29 goals during his Reading spell.
London side Chelsea made the capture of the player one of its main priorities and ‘The Blues’ gained their point in the summer 2007. Sidwell took part in 15 matches of the club during one season and completed his spell by Aston Villa move at the end of that year. The midfielder made 45 appearances and found the net three times during all three years he was a part of ‘The Villans’. In the summer 2011 Sidwell returned to London, but this time to Fulham, and had a spectacular 2011/2012 season with the club that took 9th line in the league table.
In 2014 Sidwell was released from the club and soon was offered a contract with Stoke City.
