Steven Taylor is a back of Newcastle United. He was born on 23 January 1986 in a London suburb.
Taylor began his youth career in Wallsend Boys Club. During some time he played for its youth team till Newcastle scouts took an interest in the back. They invited the footballer on a trial, detected his strengths and weaknesses and invited Steven to their academy without hesitation. In 1995 the back officially became a trainee of ‘The Magpies’ and spent eight fruitful years with the club before he was fully prepared to begin his professional performance.
In 2003 the management of Newcastle United discussed the terms of a contract, according to which Steven would play for the team. The same year he penned the contract and has stayed with the club ever since. Taylor was sent on loan at once so that he could gain initial playing practice.
The back spent the 2003/2004 season on loan in Wycombe Wanderers. His appearances on the field were rare and he took part only in six matches. After the end of the loan spell, Steven returned to his parent club and never left Newcastle United, where he has already made 160 appearances and netted eleven goals.
In 2001 the footballer was invited to the match of the England national U16 team and he took part in six more matches for it later. From 2002 till 2009 Taylor participated in international competitions for the U17, U20 and U21 squads. He made total 50 appearances for three teams and contributed four goals. In 2007 he was capped for England B.
