Sun Jiangshan is a Chinese defender, born on 24 January 1985 in Qingdao, China.
Sun started his football career at the youth level in 2000, when he joined the youth football academy of his hometown side FC Qingdao Jonoon. The youngster managed to show glimpses of his prodigious talent during his very first year with the side and got the promotion to the senior squad of the academy. There he continued to show his best form and clinched a firm place in the starting XI. Regular playing practice coupled with hard work on the training ground helped him to speed up the development of his natural football talent.
Such an illustrious play could not come unnoticed and soon the first-team head coach included the hot prospect into his first-team plans. After participating in a few exhibition matches, Sun was finally offered to sign a professional contract with the club in 2006. Jiangshan made his first-team debut on 15 October 2006, when he came off the bench as a late substitute during a 1-1 draw against FC Tianjin Teda. On 5 May 2007 the player was first included into the club’s starting XI, gradually becoming an important first-team member. Sun finally established himself as a first-choice wing-back during the 2009 season, by the end of which he managed to add 23 appearances to his career stats.
