Sylvain Marveaux is a midfielder of Newcastle United. He was born on 15 April 1986 in Vannes, France.
In 1992 Marveaux joined the Ménimur academy. He was its trainee for a long time and was getting stronger, more confident and professional day by day. The young footballer took part in different youth championships and competitions with the youth team corresponding to his age.
In 1999 Sylvain drew the attention of his native town club Vannes and team’s scouts invited him on a trial. After the trial his status changed from ‘possible candidate’ to ‘a trainee of the Vannes academy’. During two years the midfielder went deeper into all niceties of football and practiced his skills in the youth team of the club.
In 2001 Marveaux moved to the last youth academy in his career. Rennes welcomed the footballer at its training ground, where Sylvain spent another five years preparing to come on the pitch as a professional.
That moment came in 2006, when the French midfielder was absolutely ready to join the first team of Rennes. From 2006 till 2011 Marveaux was an important member of the team, who took part in 102 matches and scored 16 goals during five seasons. In 2011 English side Newcastle United bought the footballer.
In 2014/2015 season Marveaux was loaned to Guingamp.
From 2006 till 2008 Marveaux was capped 11 times for the France national U21 squad and netted four goals.
