Takayuki Morimoto is a Japanese striker. He was born on 7 May, 1988 in Kawasaki, Japan.
In 1995 Morimoto entered the youth academy of Tsudayama F.C., where he played for two years, until joining Yomiuri’s youth system in 1998. There he spent another two years. In 2001 Takayuki joined Tokyo Verdy 1969 where he played till 2004.
In 2004 Takayuki signed a professional contract with Tokyo Verdy 1969. From 2004 to 2006 Takayuki made 46 appearances and scored 5 goals for Japanese club.
In 2006 the young footballer was scouted by Italian side Catania. After short negotiations the clubs finally agreed on Morimoto transfer terms, and in the summer of 2006 Takayuki signed a 5-year contract with Catania. During that time, Takayuki was a reserve player and by 2011 he made 81 appearances and netted 15 goals for Catania.
In July 2011 Takayuki penned a deal with Novara. During the 2011/12 season Morimoto featured in 18 matches and scored 4 goals. In 2012 Morimoto signed once again for his former club Catania. in January 2013, he moved on loan to Al Nasr in the UAE Pro-League.
Since the summer 2013 he has played for JEF United Chiba.
From 2004 to 2008 Takayuki was capped 18 times and scored 3 goals for Japan U-20 and U-23 teams. Since 2009 the striker is called up to the Japan national team.
