Taras Mykhalyk is a defender who represents FC Lokomotiv Moscow. He was born on 28 October 1983 in Lyubeshiv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union.
In 2001 Mykhalyk signed for CSKA Kyiv. He shortly cemented his place in the starting eleven. During his 2001-2005 spell at the club he made 89 appearances and netted 10 goals.
In 2005 Taras switched to FC Dynamo Kyiv on a five-year contract, but was immediately loaned out to FC Zakarpattia Uzhhorod. He appeared in 18 games and scored 3 goals for the temporary side, before reuniting with Dynamo Kyiv in 2006. On 10 July 2007, Mykhalyk made a huge impact on Dynamo’s victory in a 2007 Ukrainian Super Cup match, when he netted 2 goals and thus helped his team to secure a 2-2 draw. The game progressed to the penalty shootout, and Dynamo eventually won 4-2. In the winter of 2009, it was rumored that Mykhalyk was going to join the Serie A side A.C. Milan. Taras denied the speculation about his link to the Italian club and expressed a desire to stay on for Dynamo Kyiv. On 6 April 2009 Taras suffered a heavy injury, which forced Mykhalyk to end the season. From 2006 to 2013 Mykhalyk featured in over 100 matches for the club. After that he joined Lokomotiv Moscow.
Taras made his senior international debut in the match between Ukraine and Azerbaijan on 15 August 2006.
