Tayfun Pektürk was born on 13 May 1988 in Wermelskirchen.
Tayfun grew up in the youth system of SV Wermelskirchen. In 2004 the young footballer joined Wuppertaler SV Borussia and a year later signed for FC Schalke 04. At the beginning of his senior career, Pektürk played for TuS Koblenz. For two seasons, Tayfun managed to score 2 goals in 29 matches for the club. In 2009 he switched to Eintracht Trier showing positive results with 2 goals in 10 games. However, in February 2010 the footballer was demoted into the reserve team, after which he decided to leave the club.
The following step in Pektürk’s career was SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The midfielder penned a two-year contract with the Cloverleaves in April 2010. In his first season Tayfun featured in eight games of the main team, 9 of which were in the starting line-up. In total, he has earned 39 appearances for the senior squad and played 2 games for the reserves. The German kicked his first and only goal for Greuther Fürth on 25 October 2010 in the match versus VfL Osnabrück. In January 2013 Tayfun signed for Istanbul BB.
Pektürk hasn’t been capped for the national squad due to the lack of experience.
