Tim Cornelisse is a Dutch back born on 3 April 1978 in Alkmaar, Netherlands.
Tim’s youth career took off in local youth team AFC‘34, and the footballer continued his training in the academy of AZ, where a lot of new opportunities opened up for him.
Cornelisse’s professional career began in Eerste Divisie side TOP Oss, which sealed a one-year deal with the back in the summer 1997. During his first season, Tim took part almost in every league match and made 32 appearances for the club.
In 1998 Tim moved to Belgian Pro League side Anderlecht. However, the new club did not buy the footballer for the enforcement of the main team. The management understood he was a talented player and thought they could sell him, when his transfer cost rose. Right after the signing was completed, Cornelisse went on loan to Dutch side RKC Waalwijk, where he showed stellar performance in the 1998/1999 season and netted one goal in 23 games.
In 1999 the management of the temporary team decided to secure the back’s services and penned a contract with him in the summer 1999. During the 1999/2000 season, Tim featured in every match of the new club and found the net one time.
The footballer spent the 2000/2001 season with the new squad, as he put pen to paper of a contract with Vitesse. Cornelisse spent four fruitful seasons with the new club and became the pivot of the team. He made 120 appearances and fired two goals during his spell.
In 2004 Tim’s career went forward at a steady gait after he completed a move to Eredivisie side Utrecht. That span of his professional performance was the brightest one, because the back took part in 180 games and amassed 11 goals.
After Cornelisse’s solid display in Utrecht, the footballer finalized a move to Twente. After a brief loan spell with Willem ii in 2013, Cornelisse signed a permanent deal with the club.
