Timothy ‘Tim’ Krul is a goalkeeper of Newcastle United F.C. and the Netherlands national team. He was born on 3 April 1988 in The Hague, Netherlands.
Tim began his career in local club ADO Den Haag, but later moved to English side Newcastle United F.C. and signed a three-year contract with the team. In May 2005 Tim was capped for the Netherlands national U17 squad for the European Youth Championship. Then he became a first-choice goalkeeper of the U21 team. On 29 July 2006, Krul made his first appearance for the Newcastle United main squad.
On 12 June 2007, Tim extended his contract with ‘The Magpies’ and went on loan to Falkirk in August the same year.
On 21 November 2008, Krul was sent on one-month loan to Carlisle United was eventually prolonged for another month.
Tim made his return in Newcastle United as a reserve goalkeeper. On 8 August 2009, he took part in the first match of the season (in the Football League Championship) and his Premier League debut came on 18 September 2010 in the match against Everton.
On 4 June 2011, Krul was capped for the Netherlands national team in the match against Brasil and took part in another two games later.
