Tim Sparv is a midfielder of Groningen. He was born on 20 February 1987 in Oravais, Finland.
Tim’s career took off in the youth team of Norrvalla FF in 1993. In 2003, English side Southampton scouts won the footballer over to their academy. Sparv and his new team managed to proceed to the FA Youth Cup finals, where the midfielder played alongside Theo Walcott.
In 2006, Tim penned his first senior one-year contract with the club, but did not manage to feature in any games during the season.
However, in 2007, the footballer was a bit luckier, because he finalized a move to Swedish side Halmstad and netted one goal in 60 fixtures for the squad during two years (excluding his loan spell at VPS in 2008).
In 2010, Sparv sealed a deal with Dutch side Groningen and found the net three times in 87 fixtures for the new club as of November 2012.
In 2007, the player received his first call-up to the Finland national U-21 team. Tim made 16 appearances and contributed five goals for the squad till 2009, when he was invited to the senior national team. The midfielder took part in 26 matches and fired one goal for the full squad as of November 2012.
