Timmy Simons was born on December 11, 1976 in Diest, Belgium. Currently plays a defender for Club Brugge.
Having passed through the youth teams of Rillaar Sport and KTH Diest and after playing several seasons on the professional level for the latter in 1998 he signed the contract with Lommel.
In 2000, the footballer moved to FC Brügge and soon became a regular starter. His outstanding performance for the club didn’t remain unheeded and in 2002 he was awarded the Belgian Golden Shoe. In 2005, Timmy left the Jupiler Pro League for the Eredivisie and signed for PSV Eindhoven. Simons spent 5 seasons in the Netherlands, being a real pillar of his team and became fans’ favorite. Simons played for PSV and during 5 seasons there he earned 158 caps and scored 14 goals. In 2010 the footballer joined FC Nürnberg, which he represented till the summer 2013. At that time Timmy returned to Club Brugge.
Timmy got his first cap for the Belgium national football team in 2001.
