Timo Furuholm began to play football at his local club Veikot, Pori region. Even at that time he performed quite well, that’s why on 15 May 2003, when Timo was 15, he already starred for professional football club Jazz Pori. At that moment FC Jazz played in the Finnish premier division. In the 2003 season Furuholm made three more appearances and then moved to a local FC Musan Salama. Timo Furuholm featured in 21 matches and netted 17 goals. That was really impressive and attracted attention of coaches and scouts, who were in search of young gifted players.
Soon Timo signed a contract with one of the best teams of Finnish Championship – FC Inter Turku. As a part of the team he won the Championship and the Finnish Cup in 2008. In total for six years Timo Furuholm appeared in 99 matches and scored 40 goals. Such effectiveness speaks for itself: Timo caught the eye of German Fortuna Düsseldorf. Furuholm had a great potential and was willing to move to that club. Anyway during 9 matches for Düsseldorf Timo scored no goals and was loaned to Hallescher FC that later secured his services on permanent basis.
In 2010 Timo made his official debut for Suomi by substituting his teammate Hermanni Vuorinen in the 74th minute of a friendly tier versus South Korea.
