Timothy Derijck

Timothy Derijck is a back of PSV. He was born on 25 May 1987 in Liedekerke, Belgium.

Timothy’s career took off in the academy of Brussels side Anderlecht, where he performed at different youth levels from 1999. In the 2005/2006 season, 18-year-old footballer left his country and joined Dutch side Feyenoord. The back’s professional début came on 27 November 2005 in the home 7-1 victory over Heracles.

Six weeks after his first appearance for the club, Derijck sealed a loan deal with NAC Breda and performed for the temporary club during six months. After returning to his parent Feyenoord, the footballer was given a place in the main team and fired one goal in 18 fixtures.

The following season the club sent him on loan again, this time to Belgian side Dender, where he made his début on 18 August 2007 in the home match against Anderlecht. His first goal for the temporary team came on 5 April 2008 in the match against Charleroi, which, however, did not prevent his squad from losing 4-2. During one season with the Belgian side team, Timothy featured in 30 games and netted one goal.

In the 2008/2009 season, Derijck returned to Feyenoord, but on 13 January 2009 he penned a contract with ADO Den Haag. The footballer came on the field for ADO Den Haag for the first time on 5 February 2009 in the away match against PSV Eindhoven. His first goal for the team came in the game versus Cypriot side Omonia two and a half years later, on 4 August 2011. The back made 82 appearances and went on to net eight times during his spell with The Hague side club.

On 15 August 2011, Timothy put pen to paper of a four-year contract with PSV, where he continued to play at the position of a centre back till 2013. The footballer’s maiden appearance for the new club came on 21 August 2011 in the fixture with his former team ADO Den Haag. Derijck featured in 43 games for PSV during two seasons and was loaned to Utrecht in the summer 2013.
