Alberto Facundo Costa is an Argentine midfielder who currently plays for Spartak Moscow and the national team of Argentina (commonly known as Tino Costa).
He got engaged in football at La Terrazza club at the age of 17. Soon he ventured all moving to Guadelupe’s Racing Club de Basse-Terre. Having spent 2 years in this country he managed to attract attention of scouts from France. He moved to Racing (Paris) that played in the third league and scored three goals in 28 games. Next season he moved to Pau where he made 39 appearances with 4 goals.
Costa’s next destination was FC Sète where he became a key player almost at once. He scored 3 times and gave 7 assists in 29 games of that season and this fact couldn’t but attract scouts of the big clubs.
In summer of 2008 Costa signed for Montpellier. He spent full time on the pitch in his first game against Strasbourg and then, several weeks later, scored his first official goal in a 4-0 win against Reims. All in all the season was quite successful for the Argentinian as his team got promoted to the League 1 from the third place. His last match for the club happened to be against Strasbourg where Costa scored a winner on the 19th minute of the game. Through the season Costa made 11 assists and scored 8 times. He was nominated for ‘The Player of the Year’ award but the title eventually was presented to Paul Alo’o from Cameroon.
Costa became a very notable footballer and was paid great attention by big clubs. One of those clubs was Valencia. They intercepted the talented player having signed a 4-year deal with Tino.
In 2013 Tino Costa made a move to Russian club Spartak Moscow in a €7m deal.
