Tolgay Ali Arslan is a German footballer of Turkish origin who plays for Hamburger SV. He was born on August 16, 1990 in Paderborn.
During the 1996-2003 period he played in Grün-Weiß Paderborn. In 2003 the talented winger moved to Borussia Dortmund`s youth team. In the summer of 2009 Hamburger SV secured the player`s services. The HSV management was impressed by the player`s eye-catching performance in Dortmund, where Arslan scored 21 goals in 13 appearances. A four-year contract runs until June 30, 2014. Unfortunately the player was hampered by injuries and only on October 17, 2009 he made his league debut. Tolgay came as a substitute on the 39th minute against Bayer Leverkusen. He managed to take part in another four league matches before he picked up an injury. Tolgay was transferred to the reserves. On April 25, 2010 he again appeared on the pitch. In that match HSV was swept aside by brilliant Hoffenheim. Tolgay Arslan had an early bath as he was sent off for the first time in his career.
He spent the 2010/11 season on loan to Alemannia Aachen, netting 6 goals. Then he returned to Hamburg. But another injury forced him to sit out the whole season. In 2012 the player signed a three-year contract extension.
Arslan launched his career with the Turkey youth teams in 2009. In 2011 he became a German footballer but he hasn`t played a single match so far.
