Tom Kennedy is a defender of Barnsley. He was born on 24 June 1985 in Bury, England.
In 2002, Tom penned his first professional five-year contract with local Bury, but had to face high competition for a place in the starting line-up. However, the footballer gained the manager’s confidence and got more playing time, which helped him to become the pivot and find the net five times in 143 fixtures for the club during five seasons.
In 2007, Kennedy sealed a deal with Rochdale and became a regular, who fired nine goals in 137 games for the team during two years and a half.
In 2010, the defender drew the attention of Leicester City and put pen to paper of a contract with ‘The Foxes’ in the same year. However, after both parties had agreed the terms of his signing, Tom spent another half a year with Rochdale and made six appearances during that spell. In 2011, the footballer went on loan to Peterborough United and featured in 21 matches for the club before returning to his parent Leicester City, where he took his tally to six appearances by 2012.
In January 2013, Kennedy completed a permanent move to Barnsley.
