Tomáš Pekhart was born on May 26, 1989 in Sušice, Czechoslovakia. Nowadays he plays as a striker for FC Nürnberg.
Tomáš’s first steps in football were made with the local club TJ Sušice then he joined TJ Klatovy. In 2003, scouts from Slavia Prague noticed Pekhart.and the footballer joined the club, where he played until 2006.
Seeking for more experience in the summer 2006 the striker left for Tottenham Hotspur. In 2007, the footballer was already moved to the reserve squad but there Tomáš had managed to appear only in 12 matches before a severe injury. In 2008 the striker joined FC Southampton on loan valid till January 2009, and on September 14, 2008 made his debut in the Championship. Having scored a single goal in 9 games, in 2009 the footballer transferred to his former team of Slavia Prague on a year-long loan.
On January 2010, Pekhart signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with FK Baumit Jablonec and in 2011 he was loaned to Sparta Prague again. In summer the player signed for FC Nürnberg and since then he has been representing this very squad.
Tomáš is a national team footballer since 2004. He was a part of the Czech Republic national team at youth levels and since 2010 he represents the senior team.
He featured at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup. During the tournament he made 5 appearances but did not put a single goal into the net. Pekhart’s debut for the senior team took place on May 22, 2010 in the game against Turke
