Tomáš Ujfaluši is a defender at a Turkish football club Galatasaray and former player of the Czech Republic National Team. He was born on March 24, 1978 in Rýmařov, Czechoslovakia.
His career started in 1996 at Sigma Olomouc SK, and in 2000 the footballer moved to Germany to play for Hamburger SV. In 2004 he signed up with Fiorentina ACF and stayed at the club till 2008, when he signed a contract with Atlético Madrid. He made his contribution to the victory of the club in UEFA Europa League in the season of 2009/2010.
On June 20, 2011 the Czech footballer was signed by Galatasaray (Turkey) for two years.
Internationally Tomáš Ujfaluši appeared for the Czech Republic U21 National Team at UEFA European U21 Championship and at the Olympic games in 2000. Starting from 2001 he played for the Czech Republic National Team and participated in two European Championships and one World Cup. Tomáš captained his national team till April 8, 2009, when he announced his retirement at international level.
