Thomas Oar is a winger of Utrecht. He was born on 10 December 1991 in Southport, Australia.
Tommy’s youth career took off in 2006, when the footballer joined the academy of Palm Beach. Oar spent one year with the club and moved to the youth system of QAS, where he stayed during one year as well.
In the summer 2008, Brisbane Roar scouts noticed the young player and offered him a place in the main team of the club and a professional contract. Tommy accepted the offer and netted his first goal in the last minute of the second match of the 2008/2009 season, which ended in a victory for the footballer’s squad. In March 2010, Oar was named the rising star of the A-League.
The player made occasional appearances for Brisbane Roar during his first two years. The head coach gave Thomas an opportunity to come on the pitch 26 times, and the footballer repaid by firing two goals.
In 2010, Oar completed a move to Eredivisie side Utrecht and made his début for the new club on 15 July 2010 in the Europa League qualifier against KF Tirana, which ended in a 4-0 victory for the player’s squad. Tommy found the net two times in 36 fixtures as of November 2012.
In 2008, the winger received a call-up to the Australia national U-20 team. Oar was capped 33 games and contributed four goals for the squad during three years. From 2010, the footballer has featured in five games for the senior national team.
