A French-born Portuguese footballer Anthony da Silva, aka Tony, plays as a right defender for Paços de Ferreira. He was born on 20 December 1980 in Le Creusot.
His senior career started in 2000, when Tony earned his first pro contract with Dragões Sandinenses. His first season wasn’t rich for opportunities to come on the field frequently and most of the time the footballer spent as an unused substitute player.
In 2001, a four-year contract was penned with Chaves. Anthony didn’t become the team’s pivot, netting one goal in 71 matches during the spell.
In 2005, he joined Estrela Amadora, where he was promised to operate as the team’s starter. Tony spent a year and a half with the club, appearing 45 times.
In January 2007, a transfer to CFR Cluj happened. The footballer featured in 95 matches and netted 1 goal for the Romanian side. In the summer 2011, Silva moved to Vitória Guimarães. Very soon the footballer understood that he had no future prospects playing for the club. So in January 2012, a contract with Paços de Ferreira was signed.
