A Portuguese footballer André Filipe Alves Monteiro, aka Ukra, plays as a forward for Rio Ave. He was born on 16 March 1988.
Born in Famalicão, Ukra started playing for the local youth team in 1999. In 2001, he entered the academy of Porto, where he spent the last years of his youth career. In 2007, Monteiro signed a long-term contract with his boyhood club. Hardly had he entered the main squad, when he was loaned out by Varzim. During a year, he made 21 appearances and scored one goal for the temporary team. In the summer 2008, Ukra was loaned to Olhanense. The forward clinched the starting line-up and during the first season missed only few matches. He performed for the temporary club during two seasons, making 58 appearances and netting 7 goals. In the summer 2011, Monteiro served a loan to Braga. His next season would find him serving loan at Rio Ave, where he continues to appear on the field as a temporary player.
From 2007 to 2010, Ukra was invited to represent the Portugal national youth team at U-19 and U-21 levels. In total, he featured in 17 matches and scored three goals.
