Umut Bulut is a striker at Galatasaray football club. He was born on March 15, 1983 in Kayseri, Turkey.
Umut Bulut started training at Petrol Ofisi AŞ Football Academy in 1994, and soon, in 2000, the club signed the striker’s first contract as a professional footballer. It was the beginning of his career. Over the season of 2000/2001 Umut Bulut played 28 games and scored 5 goals.
In 2001 Umut moved to Ankara to play for Ankaragücü MKE and could frequently be seen in the first string. His coming in on the pitch was always very efficient. All in all, he made 36 goals in 90 matches, played for the squad over the period of 2001-2006.
From 2002 to 2003 Umut Bulut featured for İnegölspor on loan and marked 30 games with 6 goals.
In 2006 the striker was invited to one of the most powerful football clubs in Turkey, Trabzonspor. A contract was signed for a few years and the player stayed at the club till 2011. The time at Trabzonspor was a very successful stage in Umut’s career, with 88 goals in 161 games.
Bulut’s remarkable scoring skills and efficient performances could not have been left unnoticed and in 2011 he was signed for €4.8 million by a French club Toulouse FC till the year of 2012.
In the run-up to the season of 2012/2013 the footballer was loaned to a Turkish club Galatasaray.
Umut Bulut performs very successfully at international level as well. He was the scorer of a few goals for the Turkey National Youth Football Team. In 2006 he played for the Turkey National Football Team for the first time.
