Urby Emanuelson is a midfielder, born on 16 June 1986 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Urby’s youth career started at Voorland SC youth team, where was playing until being scouted by AFC Ajax. In 1993 Urby successfully passed Ajax tests and was allowed to the club’s youth system. During 10 years, from 1994 to 2004, Urby successfully trained at the academy and played for Ajax youth team in the Dutch Youth Championship.
In 2004 Urby Emanuelson was one of the best wards at the academy and eventually was promoted to Ajax senior squad. During his debut season at Ajax, the head coach gradually presented Urby to the first team. During the 2004 season Urby played in the starting lineup and was a top substitute pick. From 2004 to 2011 the midfielder scored 17 goals in 173 matches of the Dutch Championship and the Champions League.
In January 2011 Emanuelson was signed by AC Milan for three and a half seasons. In 2013 the Dutchman was loaned out to Fulham.
In the summer 2014 Emanuelson completed a permanent move to AS Roma.
From 2006 to 2012 Urby Emanuelson was capped 15 times for the Netherlands national team.
